Janice Oberding, a Nevada author whose topics include the paranormal, history and true crime, has been involved in the paranormal for over 40 years. She has written over 20 books and taught the first ever online WebCT ghost hunting class at Great Basin College in Elko, Nevada. She also taught classes about Nevada’s History and Hauntings at Western Nevada Community College and Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC). Janice was instrumental in creating Truckee Meadows Community College’s Paranormal Series which continues to this day and she is still involved in that. Janice has appeared in many TV shows on the Syfy Channel, the History Channel, LivingTV and the Travel Channel.

Aaron Gulyas

Since 2017, Aaron Gulyas has produced and hosted The Saucer Life, a podcast which explores the history, lore, and culture of flying saucer belief. He is the author of several books including Extraterrestrials and the American Zeitgeist (“A significant contribution to the body of literature on the UFO phenomenon in general and the contactee movement in specific”- Journal of Popular Culture), Conspiracy Theories: The Roots, Themes, and Propagation of Paranoid Political and Cultural Narratives (“an updated and well researched genealogy of some of the most enduring tropes of conspiracy lore”- Nova Religio), and The Paranormal and the Paranoid: Conspiratorial Science Fiction Television (“a helpful volume, and one that should be appreciated by scholars”- The Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts). He has also written or edited a vast number of articles and books on much more boring subjects. Gulyas teaches history in Michigan, where he lives with his very, very patient family.

The Curator of the Edgar Allan Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia, Chris Semtner has written several books and chapters on topics including Edgar Allan Poe, visual art, crime fiction, and cryptography in addition to contributing articles to Biography.com, Resources for American Literary Studies, Crime Writers’ Chronicle, and The Edgar Allan Poe Review. He has curated critically acclaimed exhibits for museums and galleries across the country with his Library of Virginia exhibit Poe: Man, Myth, or Monster earning the praise of The New York Times.

As curator of the Edgar Allan Poe Museum, his exhibits for the Poe Museum brought that institution recognition and honors from TIME Magazine, USA Today, and several others. Semtner has collaborated on Poe-inspired performances with groups including the Latin Ballet of Virginia, the Friends of Shockoe Hill Cemetery, and the Garth Newel Music Center. Semtner has been interviewed on BBC4, PBS, Travel Channel, Military History, NPR, CNN, and other networks and featured in The New York Times, American Road Magazine, Smithsonian.com and several other publications.

He regularly speaks about a variety of unusual, obscure, and macabre subjects to groups of all ages at a variety of venues around the United States, from the Steampunk World’s Fair to the Library of Congress, and as far away as Japan.
